Poof! Felt

I’ve been busy working on holiday knitting. Tis the season for felted bags. I was hoping to complete 30 or so small clutch size bags to give as gifts. I started about a month ago. While I really love the creativity of mixing and matching different colors and patterns plus using up some of the leftover ends from other projects, it is rather tedious and I’m yearning to start a sweater.

Here is photo of my baby (Linus is no longer a baby, as he’s 3 years old but he’s still sweet and cuddly so he’s my baby) with one of the finished bags. I’ve done 6 or 7 of them. Here is my take on felting

Step 1: Knit knit knit

Step 2: Throw it in the washer

Step 3: Sprinkle some fairy dust

Step 4: Poof! FELT!

I’m also mulling over ideas for my International Scarf Exchange Pal. Not being a fan of lightweight knitting, I’m worried that lace is the rage this season. I really don’t think I’ll make it if I try to sit down and force lace from these hands. I have the attention span of a fly. Well no not really, I just like to see progress, the more the better. I like stitch patterning and intarsia. It’s not that complexity scares me or slows me down I guess it’s just a yarn weight issue.
